The NBC-Dynasty League started play in 1989. It was call the NBC-PTP back then, because we used the game Pursue the Pennant (PTP). Back in the days before the internet, Sam Chi sent out letters to guys that were on the PTP mailing list. The draft was the best part. Guys would fly, drive, even crawl to the draft headquarters. We had big parties in Lansing, Michigan; Rochester, New York; and Mesa, Arizona. Nobody will ever forget Frank Schneider drinking so much that he thought he would corner the market on catchers.

In 1994 PTP went under and the league had to choose a new table top game. We tried the game Dynasty Baseball, which was a split from PTP. We liked it, but the following year the Major Leagues decided not to finish their season. Dynasty didn't make cards, so the league turned to Strat-O-Matic (SOM). We were now called NBC-SOM. Guys were starting to wonder what would happen to this league. The 1995 season was the only season we played SOM.

1996 came and so did baseball again. Dynasty was back making cards, so we switched back to them. We have been playing Dynasty ever since. The NBC-Dynasty League has survived many challenges, but continues to thrive.

2013 the league voted to try a new brand of game called Triple Play Baseball. We added Diamond Mind computer game as an option in 2017 for those that didn't have time to play the cards.
