2009 Season
2009 World Series is in the books: Congratulations to Don Exley for his great run through the playoffs. He was able to go 12-1 in this season's playoffs. Not sure how he lost that one game. The New York Yankees are the 2009 NBC-Dynasty Champs.
The American League playoffs are set. 2009 will feature no repeat teams. The Red Sox, Padres, and Angels make their playoff debut, so congratulations to John, Steve, and Bob. The Yankees return after a couple year absence. Don is looking like the team to beat, but he must prove it.

2009 All-Star Game from Cleveland
This was truly one for the ages. After a tight few innings that saw the AL up 3-2, the AL exploded against Oswalt for 5 runs in the 4th. A hr by Ortiz began the inning, and a 2-run 410-foot blast by Roberts finished it up. Up 8-2, the AL stars didn't seem perturbed when the NL notched 2 off Karstens in the 6th. But in the 7th the NL subs put on an explosion of their own. With 2 out, Young 1b'd off Howell, Guerrero walked, Mauer 1b'd, loading the bases for the much anticipated pinch hit of Pujols, who responded with a 2-run 1b off Dotel. Lee, the next batter, did what the hushed crowd had worried Pujols would - launched a monstrous 3-run blast into the teeth of the wind coming in from lf. And before the partisan crowd, or Dotel, could recover from seeing a 6-run lead vanish, Pedroia crushed the first pitch he saw to collect his 3rd rbi of the game. 10-8, NL. AL got one back in the bottom of the frame when Suzuki greeted Papaelbon with a 2b, advanced to 3rd on Aviles high chopper to 3rd, and scored on an Ortiz' hit that was Papi's 3rd rbi of the night. Dotel partially redeemed himself with a 1-2-3 8th, and was watching in the dugout as his team-mates crept closed in the bottom of the inning. Gerut drew a walk from Jenks, stole 2nd, and scored on Votto's 3b. 10-10, if you're scoring at home (or even if you're alone). Mauer greeted Nathan with a long shot that rode the wind all the way to the rf warning track, where it settled into Giles' waiting glove, and the NL went quietly after that in the 9th. In the bottom of the inning, with no pitchers left in the AL bullpen and the real possibility of Nathan pitching well into the night, Ellsbury worked a 2-out walk from Jenks. The Boston speedster stole 2nd, and scampered to 3rd when Mauer's throw got past Young. He scored 2 pitches later when Lind laced a 1b into lf to cap an incredible and unexpectedly exciting night. Lind was named MVP of the 2009 All Star Game
